I store all papers on the SSRN for the following reasons:

* SSRN distributes papers quickly, reliably, and freely without requiring copyright ownership.

* SSRN files multiple versions of each paper and records paper posting dates and other metadata.

* SSRN download and citation data indicate external interest. I find that they are leading indicators of other measures of a paper's potential impact.

* Since SSRN is owned by academics, I expect it will continue offering similar services for the foreseeable future.

* Single-site storage makes updating this page easier.
